Emerge
I loved this book. It is one of my favs! Now, if you are not a huge fan of love triangles, this might not be for you. However, it is not one of those books where the girl just makes you mad and is going back and forth between guys. She is normal and so honest and straight forward. It is a love story mixed with comedy and real life. Well, except for rich millionaire men sweeping you off your feet. Really, both Evan and Dane are awesome guys. Both are totally book boyfriend material. But from the very beginning, I must say, I was team Dane all the way baby! I cant really give the story away. But here are some of my favorite quotes from the book:

  • "Um, Dane, have you been checking me out? I blush. "Only when I'm breathing."
  • "What took us years to build, a strong foundation that withstood any element, has just suffered its first crack. It took a fraction of the time."
  • ...Dane is a "go big or go home" guy apparently.
  • "Where is this town she comes from that's obviously filled with the dumbest bastards on the planet?"
  • "Last chance, Disney. Once I get a taste, I'm coming after you with everything I've got."
  • Game on, Evan.
OH! Laney describes her situation in this book like the Sweet Home Alabama movie. I agree! But what worries me is that in that movie I wanted Reese to stay with the country boy from her past and not the GQ guy from her present! Oh, the dilemma. Do I really hope Dane wins or can Evan still make a comeback?

If you like Abbi Glines or Colleen Hoover you will love this series!

Embrace & Entangled
Well, didn't I just devour these books up! This is the second book in the Evolve series. Maybe I have read so many dark, intense books lately that what I really needed was a good romance/comedy to switch it up.
Where do I start? I really get the Abbi Glines, Colleen Hoover warm and fuzzies over this series!  I mean, you just love all of the characters. Well, except for Kaitlyn. I was on to her from the very beginning-well, after that text message that is. Entangled is a novella. I think I forgot this while I was reading it because I just didn't want it to end. That Dane! He is just perfect. Evan isn't so bad either. I wont give the story away but here are some of my favorite quotes:

Embrace

"When Sawyer says "tag team," you ask for clarification. We could be talking about anything at this point."
  • "Well, you don't have a girlfriend, and because Jesus loves me, neither do I..."
  • ..."I get in the car, immediately turning on my 'pump me up' music, 'Let Me Clear My Throat' by DJ Kool. I mean really, is there any other choice?"
  • "Laney 'Killer' Walker"
  • "Wink=100% success rate"
  • "...Drunken words are sober thoughts..."
  • Laney figuring out all Disney movies do not have a good mother figure or no mother at all.
Entangled
  • "Can I get an Amen." (Laney on Dane's sexual hunger lol_
  • "...Triple D, aka Dane Dick Diversion..."
  • Laney's description for her own diversion, sorry I cant write that word. :)
  • "...like the GQ Boss Sex on Legs."
  • "We're still at like, twenty-four shades of grey, mister."

A night of fabulousness with Abbi Glines, Colleen Hoover and Jamie Mcguire!

***Warning- This is a super long post!***
On Friday night, these 3 fabulous ladies were at Mohegan Sun Casino! Abbi Glines, Jamie McGuire and Colleen Hoover all on one stage! These ladies are so cool! They seem like the best of friends and each of them has their own personality! I feel like I was more star shocked and need to work on my blogger/journalist qualities. Instead of taking notes and thinking up awesome questions to ask them I was gushing and excited to be in a room full of book boyfriend lovers! We sat at a table with another book lover and it was really nice to see someone else so excited about fictional men other than us! Of course I had to make a T Shirt to commemorate this event and to show these ladies how much I love their creations. Some things I just had to include in the shirt were:

  • "butterflying"
  • "I'll take the Lake!"
  • "It's pretty impossible to hurt what Death protects." (love me some Dankmar!)
  • A list of Abbi's book boyfriends: of course DANK is #1, then we have JAX!, WOODS, RUSH!, Grant, Leif, Jace and Marcus (he was my least fav).
Somehow, I mustered up the courage to ask them a question! I asked if they have read each others books and if they have a favorite! UMMM, I wish I was not so nervous because I can't really remember if they had distinct favorites! I KNOW! What a dorkus. BUT, they do read each others book and of course it's impossible not to love these guys. So here are some of my thoughts on these fabulous ladies.

Jamie McGuire- She probably got the least "love" from me. Not on purpose. I fell in love with Travis before I started my blog and was one of the first bad boys I loved. I didn't have any snazzy quotes to put on my shirt. I didn't plan enough to buy an actual book (I have all of her books on ebooks)- I just should have planned better! She was awesome enough to sign my bag though! She has a witty and cool personality. What I love most about her is she has the most humbling story to fame and is so appreciative. Hearing her speak about that just made me respect her even more! And her advice to someone who wants to be a writer: "Start what you finish." :) She meant finish what you start but I just love start what you finish! How appropriate!

Colleen Hoover- Abbi and Jamie described her as "not showing any outward emotion." She seemed to be so calm, collected and easy going! Her books are so deep and amazing that you just cant help but LOVE everything she writes. The plots just keep turning and surprise you. Not to mention Will and Holder are so amazing! Even the poetry in Slammed has touched even me and I am so not a poetry person! "I'll take the Lake" too baby! Not to mention, she actually wrote back to my comment on FB. Extra brownie points in my book!

Abbi Glines- I would describe her as the diva of the group. Her accent is just too adorable and she is so funny! I just love her! She is one of my all time favorites, EVER. Actually, I have written about her books on my blog more than any other author or book! Even more than my beloved Dex, from EIT!  ------> Abbi noticed my shirt! AND, she favorited my tweet and responded!! Super mega brownie points for Abbi!

It was such an amazing night and I feel like no matter how much I write it will never show the total awesomeness! Another great thing was their publicist! Even though they signed multiple books for over 2 hours they took pictures with everyone! Their publicist would even take the picture for you! Everyone was just so nice and friendly. It was truly a great night!

Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines

Last week I read Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines. This is book 2 for Woods and Della. Abbi Glines is one of my favorite authors. I usually love all of her books and most of the men, except Marcus. I really like Woods. He is a book boyfriend of course. Although this was a good book it just didn't give me the warm and fuzzies like I normally get from her books. Maybe it was because Della is so insecure about everything. Overall, it was a good book. I just wish I could give Della some confidence. It took way too long for that. Until the next Abbi Glines book!

Emerge by S.E. Hall (Evolve Series)

I just finished Emerge by S.E. Hall. Like literally 5 minutes ago. I am so happy I waited to read this series because I really hate waiting for books to come out. I ordered this book back in July. It was just living in the cloud. A few days ago the author asked me to share the sale she was having on these books! How cool is that! Of course, I was honored to do so. So, since this book has been in my collection for months I figured I would read it and see what it's about. Of course, just because the author asked me to share the sale doesn't mean I would enjoy the book. I would be honest with my opinion as you already know. But WOW! I loved this book. It is one of my favs! Now, if you are not a huge fan of love triangles, this might not be for you. However, it is not one of those books where the girl just makes you mad and is going back and forth between guys. She is normal and so honest and straight forward. Forever Too Far by Abbi Glines

What can I say? Abbi Glines should be a cardiologist! She breaks your heart and then she makes it all better with joy and love to the point that it might burst. I ALWAYS loved Rush, never a doubt. But, whoa! He stole my heart and ran away with it! Love Abbi's comments to us: "Grant (yes you read that correctly)" LOL or telling us Rush's wedding song is available for purchase on iTunes. You know as soon as I read that I stopped reading and bought the dang song! The wedding scenes! All of his gifts to her, so meaningful. UGH! (a good UGH) I think the tear shaped necklace was for all of us readers and the tears we shed as we read those words! Love this book and this series and pretty much every word Abbi writes!

My All Time Favorites!

I think it is about time for me to make a list of my all time favorite books. These characters ALL made my book boyfriend list. I have either reread them already or am willing to reread them again. I mean I love them so much I have some sort of memorabilia, either a bracelet or pendant or something-I KNOW, how dorky. :)   I would recommend these hands down without any reservations.Well, some may come with a bit of a warning... I thought I'd organize this list in order of me reading them but I'm not sure if I can remember the order exactly.

1. The Twilight Saga: This is the series that started it all for me. Yes, it is YA. Yes, the movies are debatable as well as the actors chosen to play the characters. However, I fell in love with these books way before the movies came out. I just had to "compartmentalize" one from the other. I reread these books numerous times, maybe 5-6? New Moon was my least favorite (because Edward was gone!!).

2. The Dark Hunter Series: This series was recommended to me by a good friend for a LONG time before I actually read it. When I did, WOW, I fell in instant love with all of the Dark Hunters. This series mixes Dark Hunters, Were Hunters, and Dream Hunters. There are about 23 books in this series! I have read 19. I really hate waiting a long time for the next books to come out. Unfortunately, sometimes an author that writes a lot of books kind of becomes predictable. I don't want to feel like I'm guessing everything that is going to happen and like I have discovered their formula. I guess I kind of lost interest towards the end. However, a very good series and I have a very special place in my heart for Acheron and Talon. I reread only Acheron, (not the sad parts) 3 times.

3. The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series: This goes without saying. Even though there is romance this is a bad-ass series. There are 12 books in this series. I love all of the brothers. If I had to pick a favorite, ugh, I think it would be Wrath, John Matthew, Blay and Qhuinn... oh and poor Phury, no one likes him.  I cant choose just one! I reread this series twice and listened to the first 4 books on audio for a few times too!

4. Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy: What else can I say about this that hasn't already been said? I loved Christian before the world became obsessed with this "mommy porn."  Before the craze I already loved Christian. We have our moments, it's a love/dislike relationship now. However, we did see E.L. James in the flesh and she signed all 3 books for me! I reread this series 5 times... Dont judge me hehehe. I normally don't pick celebrity actors for my favorite characters, I've only done it once... But my Christian is definitely Channing Tatum. I mean once I read his name could possible be associated with this series, it just got stuck in me head! :)

5. The Experiment In Terror Series: This is totally out of order. This is my current favorite. Again, there is not much I can say about this series that I haven't already said. I mean, I wrote 7 blog posts about this! And I did not even review each book individually! I reread this series twice, reread the last book 3 times and I probably will reread it again. I'm kind of on a Dex & Perry binge right now. The first time you read a book (or at least when I read a book) I might go super fast because I need to see what happens. The second and third time I can savor all the details. There are 9 books so far... a few more coming out soon. Definitely an all time favorite! A warning for this series is that the first book, Dark House, can take you a little while to get into. STICK WITH IT! (yes, I used shouty capitals like Mr. Grey) You will be glad you did! I tried reading this book once and did not give it a chance. It sat...in the cloud...forever. Then I gave it a second chance and pushed through the first few chapters and BAM! Now it has become my fav!

6. The Hunger Games Trilogy:  Like the series above, it was hard for me to get through the first book. It too, sat in the cloud for a lonnnnngggg time. I saw the movie first and then was intrigued to read the books. That rarely happens for me. I like it the other way around. But, holy crow! These books are amazing! I laughed and cried. The hangover I felt after finishing this series was serious! I didn't read another book for months! Yes, it is YA. I havent reread it yet but will be in September to prepare myself for the next movie. Stick with this one too and you'll be glad you did!

7. The Existence Trilogy: Oh, Dank. I love you! This was an unexpected read for me and it was wonderful! It is YA. I pretty much love anything by Abbi Glines. She is a great author who writes really memorable stories and characters without making you feel like she is using a formula. I read this series 2 or 3 times. I too suffered a Dank hangover. I feel like this series may not get as much publicity as some of her other works, probably because it is YA, but I think it is just a great read.

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

I recently read Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini. This was a good book. It is the first book of 3. Although I mostly enjoyed this book I will not be reading the next 2 books. I know the last time I said that after a few days I went back and read the others but I don't think that will happen this time. This book is a mixture of a present day Illiad. Like some of the other books I've read, namely the Fallen Series and Fall of Angels Series, our two main characters cannot be together. Helen and Lucas are the modern day Helen of Troy and Paris. If they get together the world will be at war once again. I loved Lucas and I loved how he was so caring and protective over Helen. What I do not love is that I found myself skimming through the pages to find out more about them. Of course the book ends and they cannot be together. From what I read on amazon the next book is about her journey to (I don't really remember...to the underworld??) break the curse... hopefully so she can be with Lucas... During this time she meets another man to help her on her journey (Hades???)... Third book she must choose who she really loves. I just cant go there with these characters. I just would like to read a nice, sweet book without too much drama. Maybe I need a break from the love issues. I just want them to live happily ever after without having to go through two other books of drama. Now, some characters I do not care and will read 100 books because I love them SO much, like the Experiment in Terror Series and the Existence trilogy.  I'm not going to say don't read this book. Go ahead and see what you think. it might do it for you. Right now, for me, it didn't. I'm still on my Dex & Perry kick.

Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines

Well...I just finished Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines. (One of my fav. authors!) I was in such a reading hangover from the Experiment in Terror Series, Fall of Angels Series, and Blay and Qhuinn that I did not even realize this had come out! It is the 3rd book in the Too Far Series. Normally, I love when we have a new book to read about another character in the series. Only once was I not a huge fan of it. Because of Low was the first book where I could not get over how I felt about the main character, Marcus, from the past 2 books. Yes, I wanted him to be happy but I just had that initial image of him in my head...maybe it's because I love Jax so much! Anywho, back to business. This book was about Woods, we met him in Rush & Blaire's book, Fallen Too Far. Even in that book he is a classy, mature, strong (handsome...) man. In Twisted Perfection he meets his woman, Della. She has some issues. It is only supposed to be a one niter. (Is that even a word!?) Of course, fate has other plans. Interestingly this book has some similar components of the last book I read, and didn't like, Wanderlust. Like Evie, Della was sheltered by a crazy mom. Della didn't even go out of the house at all-for years! However, instead of being afraid of the world and paranoid, she is a free spirit who wants to experience life for the first time. This book hooked me right from the beginning. I've always liked Woods but now he earned the love category. BUT!! The dang book is over with a HUGE cliffhanger!!!!!!! If you remember, I really don't like that! It keeps me antsy until the next book comes out. Thank the book Goddesses that at least where it stops it is a semi happy place for our couple but  with a crazy situation to deal with. WHEW! OK, I'm happy to get this review out but as with many others I feel like I can't keep my thoughts straight because of all of the emotions the book stirred. Happy Reading!

P.S. Sorry no picture of the cover, google is acting funky and I just wanted to publish this so I can move on to the next book. :)

Never Too Far by Abbi Glines

Woo Hoo! I have been waiting for this book for what feels like forever! I loved it! I loved it from the Dedication: "To every reader out there who has a Rush Crush."  <--- Yeah, I fall in that category alright! I loved Rush from the first book, Fallen Too Far. Totally a book boyfriend! So back to this book! Blaire comes back to town with a secret. Rush wants her back desperately. He tries everything he can to win her back. It is hard for him. Each time he tries to do good somehow it turns out bad. Blaire is mostly understanding of this. But she is afraid and not sure if she could forgive him for the major secret he kept from her. They are both in a hard situation. No one wants to have to choose between their family and their partner. It is just not a fair choice. They both have to deal with this. I will admit at times I was a little flustered with Blaire, I wanted her to rush back to Rush! :) This is easy for me to say and think because I'm not in the situation. When I was in a similar situation I reacted like Blaire did and was skeptical for a much longer time. Maybe that's why I was impatient. Even when they hit the bump in the road where I know I should have been crying, I didn't. I knew he would make the right choice. I read this book in one night. Because of all the fan love the author will be writing another book about them! SO EXCITING! Abbi Glines has quickly become one of my most favorite authors.

Because of Low by Abbi Glines

Thanks to this Blizzard I was able to sit in bed reading instead of looking outside and thinking about all the shoveling I need to do. I just finished Because of Low which is actually part 2 to Breathe (which I loved so much!)  Because of Low is Marcus' book. It tells us whats going on with his life after the Sadie & Jax issue. While staying with his friend Cage, Marcus meets Willow. He is attracted to her right away. He tries to woo her and figure out what her relationship with Cage is (he's a manwhore) Marcus is a good guy. I had a hard time forginving him in this book. Maybe, to me, I just kept thinking of him as I saw him in Breathe. I dont know. Anywho, it is a really good read. Marcus does NOT make my book boyfriend list. I'm a Jax girl 100%, yes I want Marcus to be happy. BUT I have no tolerance for his spoiled brattiness. Me and Marcus are just friends. He can't steal my heart. :) OK, on to organize my closet and watch 21 Jump Street.

Breathe by Abbi Glines

Well, she has done it again. She captured my little heart and made me fall in love with Jax. He is a teen heartthrob (not sure why I keep thinking about Justin Bieber) (NO I do not think he is cute...maybe a if Taylor Lautener could sing and had a smaller nose...or if Channing Tatum could sing...) OK, I'm getting off topic. Jax falls for Sadie, a southern, innocent, beautiful and naive girl. She has all the responsibility in her household. She is practically raising her mother-who is pregnant. Since pregnant moms cant work apparently, Sadie goes to work in her place cleaning someones summer home. What she doesn't know is that it belongs to Jax Stone. She really doesn't know of him but once she sees him of course she is attracted to him. It's not only about his looks- he wins her heart. He is a sweet person.  But of course he is a celebrity and she is a senior in high school with too many responsibilities. Heartbreak is inevitable. Boy does it suck. But he comes back, and he stays there. Now I feel all warm and mushy.

Abbi Glines Existence trilogy

For the last 3 days I have been consumed with this series! It's been a Dank, Pagan and Leif triange. I have not been on FB, or playing my games- I went a whole 24 hours without playing words with friends! Pagan has a good boyfriend but falls in love with Dank who of course is Death, literally. Dank makes death look good of course. The first two books were about them trying to be together. After all that heartache of course the third book, which I just started a few minutes ago, has pissed me off because of course he has to make her fall in love with him again! Ugh! I've waited for 2 book for them to be together and now here goes the 3rd with another kink. Let's hope it lives up to my expectations. Just had to get all the book emotions out! Of course I want Dank to win!

Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines

I just finished reading Fallen Too Far. I'm starting to hate when books end with a cliffhanger. I don't want to wait 3 more months to find out if Blaire and Rush get back together. Overall this was a good book finished it in 2 days. Definitely fall for the bad guy. Bad guy ends up having a big heart.

****UPDATE*******

I feel like this review needs extra attention. Tomorrow Never Too Far will be released. Part 2 of this series. I was so angry with having to wait for the next book and BAM!-I get to read it tomorrow! Of course I will be purchasing it right at midnight (no pre-order available for this one). Rush definitely makes the book boyfriend list. He is the total reformed bad boy. Stay tuned for Never Too Far's book review.
