Book Review: Crying Wolf by Amanda Kay

WHY? Did I think this was a YA book? I love YA books, don't get me wrong. Sometimes I just get ideas in my head. So, this is not a YA book. :)
Do you like angst?
Do you like Shape Shifters?
Do you like wolves?
Do you like Romeo & Juliet?

Then you will love this book!
5 Stars!

Before I get ahead of myself, as I usually do, let me tell you what this book is about. Meet Hunter Jackson, the Hunter Jackson. He is the General of the Werewolf Army and son of the Commander. Meet Amelia Brecken, shape shifter. Not just any shape shifter either. The current Commander does not want peace between the wolves and shifters. He has his own mission to make them suffer. As fate would have it, Hunter, up and coming through the ranks has a different idea. He wants peace...and he may want more than just that. Hunter and Amelia are in love. Can their love and trust in one another be enough to overcome the impossible? (I really want to say the shit that's about to go down)

This book held me captive from the first page. I read this in an hour! That must be some new record for me. This book reminds me of Romeo & Juliet!!! Especially the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio & Claire Danes. I found myself trusting Hunter way too soon even when the laws of the world tell you not to trust him I didn't care. I just believed him! I'm a sucker for romance. I have to give it to Amelia, she is not annoying even though she knows something is off. You ever watch a movie and the man says "trust me just do as I say" and the woman is annoying and like "but I need to know" and asks 20 questions and you find yourself thinking "just do what he says, the killer is coming" or something like that? Amelia is not like that lol.

I just have to note the awesome word play with the title.

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

  • Peace or no peace. He didn't give a damn that she was a Shape Shifter, In face, he found that incredibly hot.
  • "Hmm...I see we're charming too."
  • "Please don't make me beg again, because I will."
  • "You have mastered the art of just the right amount of detail," she laughed.
  • "Dude, chill before you go Werewolf."
OHH! Hunter totally makes the book boyfriend list.

Book Review: Wicked Games by A.D. Justice

Brianna and Noah have a great relationship. Unfortunately, a situation has arisen and has disturbed their happiness. Can they bounce back from the heartbreak that has separated them for so long? Is the threat that was once lingering gone or ready to strike again?

UMMM Hello Noah! Talk about book boyfriend! A.D. Justice does not disappoint! She is great at writing strong women, alpha males and a concrete plot. She has become one of my favorite authors. Her books never leave you disappointed. Instead, you will have a book hangover. I don't think I could love Noah any more even if I tried!

5 Stars!

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

  • "I love to see you blush. It's sexy." Well, hell, so much for playing it off.
  • "I'm here to protect you...even from yourself."
  • The mixture of jasmine, rose, orchid and freesia was inherently feminine and unforgettable to the senses. (anytime I read my name there will be extra brownie points)
  • She must have had a puzzled look on her face because he gave her the sexiest half-grin she'd ever seen and whispered, "I plan on taking my time." (melted butter baby)
  • ..Noah responded, "Yes, I'm her..-husband." Maybe not right now, but I plan to be. (swoon)

Return to Kadenburg by T.E. Ridener

5 Stars!

This is the second installment in the Kadenburg Series. You will not be disappointed! Some of our favorite werebears are in trouble. The prodigal son, Rutley, returns to Kadenburg to find things have changed in the past 10 years. We also realize the things that go bump in the night are real and in that world everyone has a role. What happens when the very thing you are created for you cannot do? There is a greater plan in motion and no one is truly safe.

I loved every word of this book! Seriously! I loved Lorcan from the first book. I was #TeamLorcan all the way. I have a new love for Dimitri and Rutley. I cannot wait for the next book. Ridener's writing style is perfect. Her works are truly a hidden gem.

My reading craze started with paranormal books and after a while I got tired of it. Ridener has rekindled that love for me.

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

  • “I mean, obviously I must be crazy to come back after you called me a sinful little heathen and told me I was going to hell.”
  • “You take yours black, right?” “With honey,” she nodded.  “I have to have the honey, dear.”  (made me chuckle)
  • “Don’t you worry about another thing.  This isn’t my first rodeo.” (lol, he sounds like he is from the old west)
  • “Of course I don’t,” he finally said.  “But I don’t think Kadenburg’s quite ready for a sexy homosexual like me.  All the girls will be locking up their boyfriends, afraid I’ll steal them or something." (LOL)
  • “If you hurt her, I own a shotgun and a shovel."
  • "...I don’t give a damn if she regrets your birth…..I don’t regret it.  I’m grateful you were born.  I’m grateful that I know you, and I can never be thankful enough that you love me.” (Can I love Lorcan any more!)
  • Just remember, you can turn into Smokey the bear.  Nothing is impossible at this point.
Arnold loathed the way he was strutting about like the cock of the roost, acting like he was victorious.  He wanted to smack him- just one good smack and he’d feel better.  That’s all he needed. (Literally laughed out loud at this line!)
  • “Does Beau qualify as an actual person?” Dimitri wondered aloud.  “He’s sort of a dick.”

  • There are so many other good quotes here but I don't want to give this story away.

Book Review: Stirred Up by S.E. Hall & Angela Graham

This book was a surprise for me. I had no idea the author, one of them, S.E. Hall, was even writing this. I know these things because I'm pretty good at stalking her on Facebook! I literally read this in one sitting I think in under an hour! That is a new record for me. I have never read anything by Angela Graham yet but I will after reading this book.

This is a great, easy read. As in easy I mean easy to get into, easy to love, quick to finish. You will find yourself laughing out loud, so be careful when reading at work. There is a hot, steamy, McDreamy doctor involved. More than 1 actually. I could not help it and had to use Dr. Travis a.k.a. The Bachelor Doctor for a teaser for this book. He is just too hot and came right to mind when reading this. I won't give the story away. It gets 5 stars from me.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes:

    • Is this child for real? I may only be twenty-six years old, but I was smarter than her at, say...five.
    • Mr. Appointment Maker (tempted to make that a hashtag!)
    • Jasmine works for me; in the cart it goes. (How freakin cool is that! I sure do!! Who cares if it turned out to be cheap smelling lotion lol!)
    • This is it-V day. No, not the flowers and candy one, the vagina one.
    • ...it's like Fruitopia...
    • Jesus, just kill me already.
    • Eyes on the prize, Doc, let's get this done!
    • My bathroom, shopping spree, productpalooza...

Book Review: Daring the Wild Sparks by Ren Alexander

    #1click AMAZON
The title of this book is great. The first book is Chasing the Wild Sparks and this one Daring the Wild Sparks. You will be feeling Wild Sparks after reading these! I love these books. I love Finn. I think you will too. I think I like him a tiny bit more than I do Hadley. Don't get me wrong, I love her. She just hits too close to home for me. Then I start thinking, wow, did I nag my partner that much? The answer is YES lol. What is ironic is that I have been thinking lately how cool it would be for an author to write a romance about my life. Well, folks, this is pretty much it lol. I will say it isn't one of my finer moments. But I understand the passion, conviction and frustration Hadley feels. I'm already ahead of myself. As we know she has an awesome sauce boyfriend, Finn, who loves her more than the air needed to breathe. He doesn't want to get married, she does. His issue about being married makes her reevaluate her beliefs and makes her wonder if she gives in to all his wants, what happens to hers? Can she live happily ever after with him if it means never being married?  I could write on this subject for days, especially since I got engaged after being with my Finn for 10 years. Yes, 10 years lol. Take the ride with Finn and Hadley. You will laugh, cry and be frustrated all in the name of love and what it means to be in love. I cannot wait for the next book. I keep thinking I know whats going to happen but then it doesn't happen!

Did I mention this is a 5 star read? AND Finn is definitely on the book boyfriend list.

Dear Ren Alexander, I would like to dedicate March 4, 2014 to you. Why, you ask? Because you have sucked me in to the world of Finn and Hadley and have kept me hostage.  I did nothing at work today but read, stalk you on facebook, read some more, create chaos in one of my groups on fb and write reviews! I can't wait for the next book so please release it soon! xoxo, Jazzy

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

    • "I was watching for you." ..."Like a little doggy waiting for its owner to come home?" (lol)
    • "My girlfriend is my best friend. She's the other half of my soul. I tell her everything."
    • ..."I took my boyfriend to see a lighthouse because of what I told him abou tme being his safe harbor."
    • We're all quiet. I really want a rogue asteroid to take us all out.
    • "You know you own me, Becks. I've told you countless times. I'm yours."
    • "Oh, honey. Don't tell him that! Now he'll never propose to you!"
    • "You not wanting to tell me anything speaks volumes. It says you don't trust me."
    • What happens if he wins? Or, rather, what happens when I lose?
The debate of what Finn looks like is pretty comical. The author will share that with us soon. Until then, here are some runner ups.

Book Review: Chasing the Wild Sparks by Ren Alexander

Well, dang. As soon as I finished reading this book I had to go on amazon and buy the second book Daring the Wild Sparks. First off, I will say I freaking love Fin! and Hadley too! Even more I love her nickname, Becks. I really do not like Morgan-at all. She just rubbed me the wrong way. I feel like this book hit on a touchy subject for me because at times I was like Becks and her feelings of marriage.  I think Ren has somehow managed to write about my life with a little more glamour than it really has LOL! I feel like Morgan just kept pushing the buttons causing Hadley to doubt herself and her relationship. This book has some comedy. Made me crack up a few times-at work! Finn. Finn. Finn. He is a top notch guy for me. I just fell in love with him. I love Rod too! I wont give the story away. Let's talk about the ending! AHH! As soon as I finish writing this I will be reading the next book. I hope Fin doesn't let me down!

    #1clickthatbadboy  #finnatics  5 Stars or kites!

    • "I've heard of a rusty trombone, a Hot Carl, a Dirty Sanchez, and an Abe Lincoln, but not whatever you just said." LMAO! Have you seen Deuce Bigelow European Gigolo!?! FREAKIN HILARIOUS!
    • "Those Finnatics are crazy bitches."
    • "Later, Nimrod." (lol, I thought I was the only one who still used the word nimrod.)
    • "Why? Are you going to be my bodyguard, my babysitter and my chastity belt? ..."I'll be all three and your overprotective boyfriend." (ummm...yes please)
    • "Phenomenal." (hehehhe)
    • Eau de Wilder
